In connection with the approaching centennial anniversary of the birth of Elmar Joosep (1924-2016), a mining engineer and electrical mechanic from Pohja-Parnumaa municipality, a freedom fighter, a history enthusiast and a nationalist thinker, a desire arose to write a memorial work about him. The book is based on two voluminous, but unfortunately unfinished manuscripts by Elmar Joosep. Elmar's memorial book contains five more picture plates, eight appendices, a list of personal and place names, and an English summary.
