On June 20-21, 2001 at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga a conference organized by the EU Swedish Presidency and the European Commission, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia and the City of Riga took place. Due to the participation of high-ranking officials, distinguished scholars and members of the business community from the EU and its candidate countries, the discussion provides a very good insight into the issues, especially with regard to the economic consequences of EU integration and prospects of international cooperation.
