The electronical dataset provides essential annual statistics on most spheres of life, such as environment, population, education, science, culture, health, social protection, gross domestic product, foreign and domestic trade, prices, agriculture, industry, finance, tourism, etc. In comparison to the hard copy of the yearbook, the CD-ROM presents longer time series of statistical indicators. Depending on the topic, the time series begin with years 1940—1999 and end With 1999—2001. CD-ROM offers also statistics on regions (countries, rural municipalities). The data are presented in ASCII text-, HTML, PS-AXIS and Excel format. PC-AXIC enables to make new tables on the basis of the tables of the database, to operate with the data witin the table (to change the columns and rows of the table, to do calculations, etc.) and between the tables (to merge tables, to do calculations, etc.), to convert tables into other formats, to make graphs
