Born May 26, 1910 in Berlin, died August 8, 1976 in West Berlin.
Lived and worked in Germany (1910-1933 and 1973-1976), Poland (1934-1939) and the USSR (1939-1972).
Honored Artist of the Byelorussian SSR (1944). One of the most popular jazz artists in the USSR, whose recordings were banned twice.
