The monograph considers the linguistic representation of the Siberian border territories and China of the 17th century, and the ethnic groups that inhabited them, including their characteristic elements of life, spiritual and material culture, in other words, a representation of medieval foreign lands. The sources used are the published texts of reports of three embassies to China from 1618 to 1676. The monograph is devoted to the representation of the foreign world by Russian people of the 17th century.
