Yurii Kosach (1908–1990) was a Ukrainian poet, novelist, playwright, publicist, editor, and artist. He was the nephew of Lesia Ukrainka and the grandson of Olena Pchilka.
The publication includes the prose works of the writer, dedicated to the events of the famous period of the history of Ukraine — the era of Khmelnytskyi. In the novels "Dunkirk" and "Rubicon of Khmelnytskyi", the author addresses the events of Khmelnytskyi's stay with the Cossacks near Dunkirk and their return to Ukraine through Danzig, which are little known in Ukrainian historiography. The novel "Day of Wrath" is the thematic continuation of the two previous works and concerns the great year of the "Ukrainian revolution", from May to September 1648.
