The book is devoted to the types and technologies of beverage production in the traditional and modern culture of the peoples of the Ural-Volga region, their place and role in the daily, festive and ceremonial meal and ritual sphere. The symbolism of drinks in language and folklore, the etymology of names and vocabulary related to the culture of preparation and consumption are considered. The focus is on the analysis of modern practices of promoting and popularizing traditional drinks in folklore, ethnographic and gastronomic festivals, culinary publications and websites, museum projects. The authors analyze the traditions and etiquette of cooking and consumption, ceremonies and meals with drinks, utensils.
