The processes of establishing, developing and abolition of dual taxation and dual citizenship, typical to some native (mainly Turkic) peoples in the south of Siberia in the XVII-XIXth centuries, are reconstructed in O.Boronina's monograph. The reasons and conditions of the dual taxation and citizenship are revealed, the essence of economic and political duality is under comparative analysis. The monograph provides thorough description of Russian opposition to the Mongolian political formations (e.g. Altyn Khannate, Dzhungar Khannate) concerning the question of the citizenship of the native population in the south of Siberia.
