This work of V.Miasnikov, a professor, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, makes a unique contribution to revealing Russian-Chinese political relations in the XVII-XXth centuries. International agreements concerning the state borders of both countries are presented and thoroughly analized. The documents allow to track territorial disputes and all twists of diplomatic wars sometimes breaking out in violent military clashes (like one at Damanskii island in the 1960s.)
