This volume is devoted to sources on the history of the Egyptian state in the Hellenistic period, primarily to the decrees of the pharaohs and the decisions of the meetings of the priests, directly related
with the events taking place in the country. The last type of documents existed only under the dynasty
Ptolemy, in one work all the surviving decisions of the synods are collected. The book also includes translations.
from Greek, in which the most important hieroglyphic and demotic
texts. The materials are supplemented with biographical and funeral inscriptions of individuals of this
time. Many inscriptions are published in Russian for the first time. The book is complemented by reports, incl.
commentary on the interpretation of hieroglyphs in a medieval Arabic source.
