The expansion of the city, which was given the green light during the First Republic in 1922, was not just an administrative step. Construction activity invaded the peaceful villages, and urban infrastructure was built. Prague's original agricultural background is often only reminiscent in the names of today's neighborhoods and the preserved cores of villages or homesteads surrounded by new buildings. The rural character has been lost to a greater or lesser extent, depending on the gravitational pull of the city center.
Following a previous publication devoted to settlements and villages on the left bank of the Vltava River, the Lost Prague series crosses the river to discuss, in words and especially pictures, sixty locations such as Dablice, Haje, Hloubetin, Hostivar, Hrdlorezy, Chodov, Kobylisy, Michle, Modrany, Prosek, Strasnice, Troja, Vinor, Zabehlice, and many others.
