Grigory Bruskin (born in 1945) is a well-known painter and artist. “The Past Tense of Imperfective Aspect”, his first book, was published in 2000 and dealt with the author and his close people’s life. In 2003 his following book, “My Thoughts Are with You”, was published. It contained fragments of memoirs, letters, family anecdotes, parables, documents, funny and tragic stories, which made up a sort of Book of life of several generations. In 2005 the “Details in a Letter”, his third book, came out. That book seemed to have no a character at all, or there were many of them. The “Direct and Indirect Objects” is a new book by Grigory Bruskin, many characters of which are familiar to the readers from the previous works. It is a kind of the forth part of a serial movie and at the same time it is an self-sufficient work.
