This book is a confession of a "heavyweight" in Belarusian politics N.I. Cherginets, who headed the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus on International Affairs and National Security for more than 12 years, the Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia on Foreign Policy, and also represented the Republic of Belarus in the UN from 1997 to 2008. The author of the book met with the leaders of many countries, political figures, famous people, constantly collaborated with colleagues from international organizations, including the European Parliament, the parliamentary ensembles of the OSCE and the Council of Europe. Nikolai Cherginets describes the events when, under the leadership of A.G. Lukashenko, Belarus, which was on the brink of collapse, transformed into a full-fledged player on the world map.
