The notes of one of the most important Tatar writer of the first half of the 19 century Gayaz Ishaqi describe his life in emigration (it starts with the description of Japan). He left Russia in 1919. The dairies consist of three parts. The first one covers the period from 1919 to 1921 (the first notebook was not saved), then, until 1928, no records were kept, and then they were continued until 1932, and later notebooks were obviously lost, Iskhaqi himself later wrote about this. In 1943, he began keeping a diary, calling it “My Istanbul notebook of memories”. The first volume talks about Ishaqi's life before Turkey.
