For the first time, a comprehensive study of the phonetic structure and morphological system of modern northern dialects of the Udmurt language has been carried out. A model of dialectal division of the North Udmurt dialect was built, taking into account a complex of phonetic, morphological and individual lexical characteristics, the classification features of northern dialects were clarified, their general and specific features were revealed, the variational series of phonetic and morphological phenomena were analyzed, and trends in the territorial distribution of linguistic phenomena were determined. The monograph published on the basis of the research is intended for specialists in the field of Udmurt, Finno-Ugric linguistics, teachers, graduate students, students of philology, as well as everyone who is interested in the language, history and culture of the Udmurts.
