The present book by Andrei Chernov is dedicated to literary relations of Pushkin with Decembrists and twists and turns of their polemics. A document from the Chernovs’ family archive, which proves V. V. Nabokov’s conjecture, concerning the duel between Pushkin and Ryleyev in 1820, is published. There are also materials of a research expedition represented in the edition. The expedition was realized by the “Ogoniok” magazine and found a secret grave of the executed Decembrists on the Isle of Hunger by Pushkin’s pictures in the 1980s. There was made an attempt to discover the reasons for the duel between Lermontov and Martynov, using the methods of “specific literary studies”.
