A novel by the writer Piret Jaaks (1980), whose manuscript won the third prize in the 2023 Estonian Writers' Union novel competition. The novel with a wide historical range takes us to the Ottoman state during World War I and is based on the life story of Anna Hedwig Bull (1887–1981), an Estonian missionary of Baltic German origin, whose actions were comparable to those of Mother Teresa.
