The book is a collection of documents, articles, and translations by the author, devoted to the biography and activities of Da’ud-bek al-Mushkuri ’ad-Dagistani [1680–1735], a prominent historical figure of the Eastern Caucasus. The collection brings into scholarly circulation about one hundred previously unused foreign sources that shed light on many previously unknown details of the Sunni imam and military leader’s biography, as well as his activities as ruler of Shirvan and Dagestan.
