Daniil Natanovich Alshits (1919 - 2012) was a Soviet and Russian historian, prose writer and playwright, satirist. Doctor of Historical Sciences (1983). Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (1994), holder of the Order of the Red Star and the Patriotic War II degree, a participant in the Great Patriotic War and a prisoner of the GULAG.
