The issues of development and further improvement of the criminal-executive legislation in the Republic of Belarus and the countries of the near abroad, as well as criminological aspects of the study of negative social phenomena in the modern stage of development of the society are considered. There are suggestions for improving the execution of punishments and other responsibilities. Recommendations are given to increase the effectiveness of crime prevention measures.
