This monograph presents an analysis of screen anthropology. It identifies the foundations and mechanisms through which screen-based media influence cognitive processes, personality structure, consciousness, and behavioral patterns. The study suggests that the identification of human consciousness with reflectivity reduces cognition to algorithmic, machine-like "surface scanning."
The author argues for a "new vision" based on a return to "slow reading" and the reimagining of the screen as a labyrinthine or encyclopedic interface of meaning — thus restoring the complexity of cognitive practice, combining sensual, figurative, rational, and analytical perception.
