The monograph is dedicated to the analysis of transmitting culturally specific vocabulary and expressions of F. Schiller's drama "Wilhelm Tell" into the Ossetian language. The translation, performed by the outstanding Ossetian public figure, translator, ethnographer, linguist, collector of Ossetian folklore Tsotsko Bitsoevich Ambalov, is of an artistic value and deserves special research attention. The translation activity of Ts. Ambalov, carried out by him over a long period of time, has not yet received adequate linguocultural understanding. The published works are devoted to the consideration of the connection between Ts. Ambalov’s creativity and folklore, public literary activity.
