The monograph examines the arsenal of foreign language vocabulary innovations that have expanded the modern Russian language. Translation of units (usually lexical) from one language to another is usually studied in an extralinguistic projection. Meanwhile, it is well known that each word of another language reflects different value systems in comparison with the recipient language, associated with the individual properties of a particular mentality. This means that a certain contradiction arises between the traditional approach to the study of the borrowing process and the needs of modern intercultural communication, which necessitates the need to study not only the systemic and structural side of the borrowing process, but also the cultural “environment” of the existence of the language. The author makes an attempt to solve this problem using the relatively recently formed cross-cultural method of linguistic analysis.
