The book presents the views of the author, devoted to the solution of scholarly and practical issues of the development of the criminal process. Institutional problems are considered, in particular: the purpose and tasks of the criminal process, ensuring access to justice, respect for the court, the ratio of the powers of the prosecutor and the investigating judge during the pre-trial investigation, the legal status of the accused, the victim, the witness and other participants in the criminal process. The evolution of the criminal process of Ukraine over the 30 years of Ukraine's independence is analyzed.
