This monograph traces the history of a coterie “Beseda”, the association of leaders of the Russia’s zemstvo movement, the precursor of the parties of liberal orientation- the Cadets and Octobrists. Structure, ideological and policy aims, tactics of consolidation are also analyzed here basing on the extensive materials. Special attention is given to the coterie’s role in ideological and organizational formation of the Russian liberalism of the beginning of the XXth century.
