Rouben Galichian is researcher of the cartography of the region of Caucasus and the Middle East, whose focus is on the territories and borders of historical and present day Armenia as well as cartographic and cosmographic material existing in Armenian. The Yerevan Manuscript Depository named after Mesrop Mashtots (inventor of the Armenian alphabet), holds the largest collection of Armenian manuscript in the world. These manuscripts are about variety of subjects, simply because scriptoria were mainly in monasteries, therefore the subject of the majority of the manuscripts are religious. The present album offers basic information on the manuscripts kept in Matenadaran on geographical and cosmographical subjects, as well as other cartographic material and maps kept in various collections in Matenadaran.
