The book is dedicated to one of the most striking phenomena of the cultural and religious life of the Rus Church in the pre-modern period - the convocations of the clergy of the Kyiv Metropolitan Archdiocese. The convocations took place in the main administrative centers (primarily in Vilna, Kyiv, Minsk, and Novgorod) and territorially covered the lands of modern Belarus, Lithuania, and Ukraine, and partly also Latvia, Poland, and Russia. During the XVth -the XVIIIth centuries diocesan councils were the basis of the organization and canonical structure of the Orthodox and Union Churches and an important public forum of the entire Ukrainian-Belarusian ethno-confessional community within the borders of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Crown of Poland. The publication contains 45 documents in Latin, Polish, Russian, and Church Slavonic, the publication of which is accompanied by translations into modern Ukrainian.
