The album is the only one of its kind in Bulgaria for the last 40 years. The book edition contains 30 portraits of artists and sculptors - creators in the field of naive art, presented in the form of unified interviews. Naive and intuitive art is a living, active phenomenon in the global art culture today. Because of its unadulterated emotionality and spontaneity, it is also called "art of the sacred heart", "art of instinct", "raw", "modern neo-primitivism", "free from canons".
In times when naivity in life is rare, this type of art is given a special place thanks to the unique ability of its creators to immerse a person in a world of carefreeness, immediacy and spiritual purity. Their works bring mood - something that is increasingly lacking in most other areas. Free from the influence of academic traditions and canons in art, naive artists relied on their personal experiences, and their paintings reflected personal memories, desires, and dreams, distinguished by original stylistic independence. Without claiming to encompass all known and unknown masters, the present publication is a step forward in incorporating contemporary Bulgarian naivists into the artistic life of the country.
