(Concerns of Transylvanian German Intellectuals about Traditional 20th Century Romanian Culture)
This book was born out of a desire to analyze the contribution of 19th century German Transylvanian scholars to the study of Romanian pop culture, as well as the reasons why they collected Romanian folklore. From the first half of the 20th century, interest in German scholars - collectors of Romanian folk songs appeared, but they are studied individually or synthetically and only from certain points of view. The proposed analysis examines the material from several points of view, namely from historical, social, anthropological, geographic and political, using concepts such as "liminality, culture as translation, hybridity, reading counterpoint", tools proposed by researchers such as Doris Bachmann -Medic, Clifford Geertz. , James Clifford, Victor Turner, Homi Bhabha, Arjun Appadurai.
