For the first time, a comparative analysis of the hydroecological state of the watercourses of the Verkhneberezinsky ecological region, operating under various natural and anthropogenic loads, is carried out on the basis of the basin-landscape concept. Ecologically significant intra- and interlandscape patterns of the formation of the hydrological and hydrochemical regimes of rivers and their connection with the biodiversity of aquatic organisms are revealed. A multi-level approach to the assessment of surface water quality is proposed. The obtained results have a scientific, methodological and applied focus, meeting the objectives of integrated environmental monitoring assigned to biosphere reserves by the International Project MAB No. 8, consistent with the modern principles of water management of the new (2015) Water Code of the Republic of Belarus.
