This publication describes the experience of assessing the readability of legislative acts of the Russian Federation on the basis of their syntactic analysis by methods of computational linguistics. For the first time, comprehensive statistical data on the syntax of federal legislation were obtained. The authors concluded that the legislation has become 30% more complex since 1991. The book also contains an expert analysis of the existing legal, technical and linguistic approaches to lawmaking.
