Nowadays the world’s leading powers put forward a so-called “competitive liberalization” as a key strategy of foreign trade policy. It presents a combination of multilateral, regional and bilateral liberalization aimed at stimulation of competition inside the country, as well as opening of markets overseas. The absence of a considered strategy of “competitive liberalization” in Russia is fraught with the loss of trade flows and its political weight on the international arena. The author makes an attempt to depict an “economic map” of Russia’s prospective alliance in the world economy and to define the key vectors of a “competitive liberalization” for Russia.
