The relevance of this work is determined by the need to develop a methodology for studying the dynamics of the competitive environment in local markets for the information and analytical support of entrepreneurial decisions when choosing areas for increasing competitiveness and their sustainability in conditions of increased competition and the influence of economic crises. The monograph is a synthesis of research results, covering several cycles of entrepreneurial activity in the process of forming a competitive environment in local markets. On the basis of a critical study of domestic and world literature, specific features of the Russian experience in the process of forming the dynamics of the competitive environment were revealed. The long observation period made it possible to systematize factors affecting the competitiveness of local producers, to confirm the possibility of the existence of quasi-competitive markets as an independent form of the market structure at the local level and to justify the need for its inclusion in existing methods of studying the competitive environment by enterprises and regulators. The proposed approach to the study of the dynamics of the competitive environment allows regional and municipal authorities, entrepreneurial structures to create flexible application monitoring systems for making management decisions, analyzing competitive positions, assessing the intensity of competition and developing behavior strategies.
