On the basis of field materials collected by the author during ethnographic expeditions to the regions of Udmurtia, the most common verbal and non-verbal methods of communication in the Udmurt communicative space are identified, social symbolism, auto- and hetero-stereotypical representations and their place in the communication of modern Udmurts are analyzed, new forms of communication are characterized, which appeared thanks to the spread of new technical devices and the global Internet.
