The novel trilogy depicts the fate of Slovak and Moravian colonists on the territory of southern Slovakia in the turbulent times of Slovak history, from the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic and the settlement of the border territories, through the national conflicts of the pre-war 1938 (Colonists I), the dramatic social situation from the end of the war to the beginning of social changes in 1948 (Colonists II), to the short period of 1965 and the ecological catastrophe of the great Danube flood (Colonists III). Man's eternal struggle to live with dignity in the midst of historical, political and ultimately natural conflicts and disasters.
