Talev had the great and noble ambition to be the ultimate storyteller for Macedonian Bulgarians and their historical fate. He had a proud and exalted sense of kin, an awareness of belonging to a community, and he felt empathy for the entire history of that community, a longing for its warm and familiar intimacy.
