Vasily Konstantinovich Magnitsky (1839-1901) is known as an ethnographer, folklorist, historian, and public educator of the second half of the 19th century. The creative legacy of V.K. Magnitsky has not been republished. Several of his publications are bibliographic rarities, and numerous handwritten works are kept in archives, where they have not been put into scientific circulation. This edition includes works on the ethnography of the nations of the Volga region and the Urals, covering issues of history, material, and spiritual culture of Bashkirs, Mari, Russians, Tatars, Udmurts, and Chuvash. The publication mostly retains the original titles of the works. In cases of identical headings, annotation elements have been added. Works without titles are titled by the compilers. The compliers are Candidates of Historical Sciences, Yu.V. Gusarov and A.A. Chibis.
