The first book by Gunar Janovskis, a well-known Latvian writer which lived and worked in exile, was the novel "Sola", published in 1963, then came "Par Trentu kapj migla" ("Mist is Rising over Trentu") 1966, and "Balsis iz tumsas" ("Voices of the Darkness") 1972. These three books formed a trilogy telling about fates of legionaries in the post-war England. The issue contains the first two books of the trilogy.
