The author of the collected works is Yulian Semyonov, a Jewish Russian writer of spy fiction, the author of “The seventeen instants of spring”, and the founder and editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Sovershenno sekretno" ("Top secret"). The tenth volume of his works comprises the novels “Auction” and “Face to face” which are devoted to the search for cultural values (in particular the Amber Room), stolen by the Nazis during the Second World War.
