The publication is dedicated to a comprehensive study of the Baroque coat of arms from the collections of the Slovak National Library in Martin. It is a unique historical source, significantly exceeding the sphere of heraldry itself. The coat of arms dates from 1710–1712 and is related to the establishment of the Loreto Chapel of the Bratislava Franciscan Convent. Its construction was financed by Palatine Pavel Esterházy with the support of almost seventy patrons, whose family coats of arms are found in it. The group is very diverse, we find the richest Hungarian magnates in it, but also minor nobility. Despite these differences, several types of ties gradually emerged between them, which the work also explores. The donors are presented using alphabetically arranged entries. In several cases, this is the first comprehensive report on their families. In addition to coats of arms, genealogical connections and professional careers, the work also captures their social status, religious and other donor activities. The emergence of the group of donors was demonstrably influenced mainly by ties from the school, economic and work environment and their family relationships. Other mutual ties were defined by the identical geographical area of their activity or spiritual path. A special subgroup were the former kurucs who, after the monarch's amnesty, tried to return to the Hungarian power elite.
