In the new book, the author refers to the Zagreb Literary Science School where the term was created, traces the history of the concept of intertextuality from Bakhtin through Kristeva to Barthes and Genette, gives a comprehensive typology of quotations from literary quotes in the narrow sense to quotations of life (facto quotes) in the broadest sense, observes quotation from a universal and historical perspective, and by various examples illuminates the assumptions, universal forms, and historical phenomena of the citation phenomenon.
