This intermediate book in the Charles Baker series appears at the ever-growing insistence of fans of what is up to this point a trilogy: The Lost Bible, The Testament of Abraham, and Michelangelo's Lie. The cathedral in flames. I think that the readers who love my books fall into three categories: those who only like the thriller part, those who are fascinated by the real history in them and those who appreciate the whole package. Chronicles of insanity is addressed to readers interested in facts and less in fiction and presents fragments of the dialogues that various characters have about the most interesting themes in the three books of the series, grouped thematically and in the chronological order of the unfolding of events, not in the order in which they appear in the novels. If you will still find in the book things that are more like fiction, it is because it could not be otherwise. I assure you that I tried to reduce them to a minimum. Maybe, in this way, those who were afraid of my books and who learned good things about history from them, but who are not so interested in fiction, will be tempted to finally read the novels in their entirety . - Igor Bergler
