Vitaly Vorotnikov was a Soviet-Russian statesman who was from 1983 to 1988 the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR, and from 1988 to 1990 Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR. In his book he tells in detail about the greatest tragedy of the XXth century - the collapse of the USSR. The book is largely based on documents from the archives of the Politburo and the Supreme Soviet of Russia.
