In the monograph, based on an interdisciplinary approach, the ways of the genesis and evolution of the Christmas crib in European countries, in particular in Ukraine, are traced. The specific-historical aspect of the research involves not only the generalization of a certain mass of facts, but also an axiological analysis with the aim of determining relict and viable forms of folk culture.
