The volume is conceived in a series of synthesis books of the State Program "Culture of promoting the image of cities in the Republic of Moldova through art and mythopoetics, 20.80009.0807.19", which was carried out, largely, at the State University of Moldova between 2020 - 2023.
The collective monograph dedicated to the city of Chisinau, (like the other two volumes, Bălți and Cahul) has chapters entitled: Mythopoetics of the city, Signs of History, Architecture of urban space, Cultural gems, Identity of the city and the culture of its promotion, About the people of the place and their traces, Dialogica, Urban itineraries, The city in colors and Lampshade for a library. By virtue of the object of research – which is the urban work of art – the aspects stated are found to a greater or lesser extent in all the authors' contributions.
The volume is addressed to researchers in the fields of history and architecture of the city of Chisinau in different periods, but also to a wider audience, including students and teachers, all those interested in the capital and the personalities who marked its history.
