The authors of the monograph include the phenomenon of “Chinese text” as works in which images and plots associated with Chinese culture appear (including literature of the Russian “eastern” abroad in Harbin and Shanghai), as well as modern works in which plot lines associated with “alternative” history of China and Russia are developed. The monograph reveals the main stages of the formation of the “Chinese text” during the 19th-20th centuries, the complexes of ideas associated with it, its genre, style and cultural specificity, and examines the mechanisms of functioning of the image of China in Russian culture.
