The authors of the memoirs presented in the book survived and stood firm, despite all the circumstances that were not in their favor. They had the mission of being witnesses of the immediate local events of the Great Patriotic War and of passing on what they saw, experienced, and suffered to future generations so that such things would never happen again. The children of war passed all the trials of wartime and post-war reconstruction with dignity and made a colossal contribution to our common Memory of the Great Victory. They are still in service today, being active public figures who care about everything that creatively fills our lives.
