The book is dedicated to the Irkutsk pages of the life of Alexander Mikhaylovich Sibiryakov, one of the brightest representatives of the large merchant dynasty of the city of the 18th - early 20th centuries. Based on a large amount of factual material, the main directions of A. M. Sibiryakov's social activities in Irkutsk, a number of his entrepreneurial initiatives carried out in the region are considered. Special attention is paid to the history of the functioning of institutions created at the expense of Sibiryakov, the fate of people associated with them, the history of works of art and cultural monuments that appeared in the city thanks to the merchant-patron.
