The book examines the relationship between the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of Kartli-Kakheti in 1783-1798: how these relations developed between the two countries, why the Russian Empire did not defend the Kingdom of Kartli-Kakheti from the aggressive actions of Iran. This monograph examines this historical period based on the analysis of documents and materials. The author's point of view is proposed - the tragic events that struck the Kingdom of Kartli-Kakheti did not occur as a result of the wrong foreign policy of Erekle II, but were due to the policy of the Russian Empire pursued towards the Caucasus.
