The book tells about fishing in the territory of the Belarusian lands, starting from the gray centuries and ending today. The authors analyze numerous historical and archival data, which indicate which fish, how many and where were caught, which reservoirs were especially famous for the abundance of fish stocks. Emphasis is placed on what rites and whims the fishermen followed in their daily lives or in the performance of their direct duties. It is emphasized that the process of fishing is also quite fully reflected in the classical Belarusian literature.
